Hey, YV community!

It seems the activity here is going down :(
But we at JMT believe that Yamaha vocal technology or something similar will yet take its well deserved place in a musician’s arsenal, because Modeling has no alternative :D Check out our new MIRIAM/LEON demo example. We spent a second for adding the entire set of the Expression elements :D , but it took us minutes to type in the Lyrics :( As always, no manual editing at all! See details at [url:zz7vciat]http://www.ntonyx.com/vocaloid/10-12-2004.htm[/url:zz7vciat]

Hi Alexei

Hey, this is a giant leap. Finally the lyrics starts to be clearer and I actually understand the lyrics without reading them. :) The singing
phrases are slowly becoming to sound more like a human voice.

Keep up the great work!

I luv melismas. :)

What can be done about the wasted time writing the lyrics? ;) Any text file import feature coming up?

Thanks dear Bob!

Lyrics: I mean that we spend much more time to type lyrics in Vocaloid, than YVE style did to calculate and insert ALL expression elements. Currently we are able to import Lyrics / Phonemes from Vocaloid MIDI file and return them back after data transformation. Later Lyrics window will be added to YVE. It will allow pasting Lyrics from Clipboard into the window: every line will be recognized as a Phrase. I hope we can add such an algorithm that will split words into syllables, so that lyrics will automatically be spread on the notes. And when PMStyle will insert additional notes (melisma) Lyrics must be arranged according to Vocaloid specification: < – > for the short additional notes so that vowel is stretched, and < > so that consonant was sung on the last note.

Hi Alexei

That sounds really cool. :)

I did some equalising on the latest demo you put up on your site. Due to that my PC speakers here at work sounds rather bad. But anyway. I discovered that Miriam sounds very excellent when I tweaked away some lower mid frequencies, that causes dominant resonances.

I used a built in winamp graphic eq version 2 with hard coded frequencies.

60Hz -20dB
170Hz 0dB <===== still some ‘blurping’ sound on Leon
310Hz -20dB <===== Nasty resonances lowered Miriam
600Hz -20dB <===== Nasty resonances lowered Miriam
1kHz -5dB
3kHz -2dB
6kHz 8dB
12kHz 15dB
14kHz 5dB

well that is not exact values, but my point is that by removing those
mid low frequencies the clearness is dramatically boosted.

Any way to control Vocaloid in removing those resonances? Or can you
remake your demo mix in a descent eq and post it, just get a glimps of the difference. Even leon sounds clearer.

[b:cespsvpi]Or perhaps you can do that on the next demo?
