this has always bugged me about the vocaloid forums everywhere!!
and it needs addressed- big time this forum has 6378 registered users but that number adds a new bunch each day but out of that only a few ever post or reply and even less ever do anything at all. this is s posed to be a vocaloid community not an eat and run shop. someone is spending their time keeping this board up and that time is not free. the few users that do post or share news and tips ect are not doing that just for the hell of it. and the guests who view the forum are not the people im about to unload on here either. im unloading on the registered users that never contribute to this forums growth beyond just inching the user count up daily. in my view if your just registering here to get a notch in your belt for being a member of a user board your being an ass. when you join any kind of a community your posed to pitch in and share with those around you not sit on your ass like a boyscout whose just glued himself to a tree-stump. that’s called freeloading and the few of us here who do contribute to the community don’t like that.
if you are not going to do anything to further the growth of this forum other than adding another digit to the user list then don’t sign up and if your one of those fore mentioned freeloaders who sits on his ass- do us all a favor and get lost your taking up space on the site that space costs someone money eventually.if you sign up to a community board like this one do your part to better the community otherwise take your lame ass elsewhere.

While I completely agree with you… I mean… I really do. Where is everyone!?

Anyway. While I completely agree with you, the boards aren’t exactly the most user-friendly board out there. I mean… Come on. What version of phpBB is this using?
・There are annoying "bot checkers"
・There’s no EDIT button at all on the VOCALOID discussion board
・The thread categories could be thought out way better.
・And no offense Mr. Admin man/woman. :U But you’re kind of bad at keeping the threads on topic at all.

Also. I’m guessing that the biggest problem is that there aren’t a lot of worthwhile updates with VOCALOID. Most pieces of news are about Miku Hatsune events and albums released. Us 2 [i:1so2f3c1]active users[/i:1so2f3c1] are either too cheap to buy things like FL Studio, don’t look into the VOCALOID program enough to help, or, in my case, use a mac so VOCALOID doesn’t actually run completely flawless…. And I can’t re-wire it to anything. I think our best user is Timothy Kelly. He’s good enough to ask potential questions and post cool things he finds with the program. We hardly see Giuseppe and Anders… I mean…. Anders posts more on [url=http://vocaloidotaku.net/:1so2f3c1]VOCALOID Otaku[/url:1so2f3c1] than he does here.

Ah well~ We’ll see where this goes. Good luck to us, the 3 active users on VU.

Giuseppe and Anders attempt to answer problems or matters with the creation of this forum related with Vocaloid.

You have two weeks talking about issues and discussing matters that have nothing to do with improving Vocaloid or attempt to help to users. When a user needs help and I know I can give, I answer, but my or Anders do not like to enter foreign discussions.

Hi Everyone,
I join the forums for each piece of music software I own. Same for web page design software and desktop publishing software.

Forums are a great help when you are just learning to use software and many forums have experts who know more about the software than those who designed it do.

I am surprised at so many lurkers, unless they are all auto bots. I have had my first Vocaloid for about a month now and I put in my hour a day learning more about what one can do with Vocaloid.

Vocaloid is great fun, and is something kids would come to school to use. Its easy to create funny sounding voices, and type in funny things for the Vocaloids to sing.

And the Vocaloids as backing singers are far superior and better sounding than audio loops and one is not limited by the puny vocabularies of paying 50 bucks for some fake rap singer saying oh baby or bite me.

Or some babe in an American Car TV commercial pretending to have an orgasm over the latest GM or Toyota.

And as Master Vocaloid and some others prove, if you put in the learning time, Vocaloids can do lead vocals in multiple languages.

Learning to get good results with Vocaloid , well most of the Vocaloid Videos up on You Tube people are not even bothering to use the control tracks and bring life to their vocals. They just use the defaults and have fun. That gives all the Vocaloid parts, a techno, robotic feel, and a sameness to the Vocaloids in the way they sound.

But the Vocaloids, no matter which ones from which Vocaloid designer can do much more. Since 1 Vocaloid can do 16 Tracks, if your PC is fast enough. Where are all the Vocaloid Choir demos? Or just good old Vocal Quartets? Barbershop, jazz, classical, country. Even a slow PC can playback 4 Vocaloid Tracks fine.

I just downloaded and installed Leon today, so back to seeing what Leon’s voice can do.

Giuseppe. While I am fine that you guys do not enter foreign discussion, I’m not asking for that. You guys do your job fine. I really don’t know where I was going with that. I’m sorry.

I don’t see why we should not talk about problems with the forums here though.

I too answer problems when I can. I ask questions and post what I know. I feel that I did this fine for an amateur VOCALOID user. I only know the basics of the program however, so my knowledge is limited. I might have been caught up with that argument with IMOS, but it stayed in topic. Still, if I were a mod, I would have locked that and banned both of us. :U
But as of now, there’s nothing to talk about with VOCALOID unless it has to do with Miku Hatsune.

Right now, I’m just posting the criticism I have for the forum. I would think that as "Problems or matters with the creation of [b:1p0rp0es]this forum[/b:1p0rp0es] related to Vocaloid." Shouldn’t issues be fixed over time so the boards could have more potential and be usable?
Oh yeah. BTW, some song downloads give me a 404.

ok… thanks for the posts. I’m glad you are all talking!

[b:2awgns6y]IMOS:[/b:2awgns6y]
A couple of years ago this site was regularly getting hacked and trashed by bots, particularly the downloads section. Some of you may remember.

As a result I made the downloads section only visible to registered users of the site. It’s annoying, but it seems to have minimised the problem.

The result is that in order to use the downloads section, you have to register, hence the number of users constantly counting up.

I do not have a problem with this at all. These users are not freeloading, they are simply using the site as intended. They are welcome here, and they are also welcome to contribute to this forum, or totally ignore it …

It’s my site, and I say it is fine either way. It’s supposed to be an open community not a closed club.

[b:2awgns6y]C-F:[/b:2awgns6y]
The bot checker was installed because the forum kept getting hacked by bots, and filled with spam.

I chose not to enable the "edit" buttons when I set the site up (in 2004), because Ive seen them abused on other sites, and also read very confusing threads where early posts have been edited, or totally changed and then all the responses no longer make sense. I often edit mistakes when people ask me to (just send me a PM or feedback).

Also please DO use the preview button before submitting!

Thread categories … hmm yeah. The main ones were set up in Feb 2004 just before Leon and Lola were released. Admittedly since then the whole landscape has changed a lot. I have added a few categories but not changed much really.

Fire suggestions at me and I will consider changing it.

I am considering updating the whole site, it’s overdue … but its a big investment of time and might take me a while to sort out!

Yes, I apologise I’ve not been great at reigning in disjointed topics. (But I have recently had private dialogues with certain users about a couple of behavior issues)

Yes I think some of the downloads are broken, I will investigate.

[b:2awgns6y]Regarding tech issues:[/b:2awgns6y]
I have not been involved in Vocaloid development for a number of years now, so I am much less able to help with technical issues as I once was. However if no-one here can help resolve a specific issue, I can privately forward the info to people who should be able to help, and hopefully report back.

In case it’s not clear, this site is NOT owned or managed by Zero-G or Yamaha, and it is not an official tech support forum either. Those 2 sites do link here though, which is great and much appreciated.

Cool~ Thanks for listening to feedback. I like it when Admins actually do that.

I can understand the lack of an edit button and I’ve actually gotten used to previewing posts. :B

Maybe as a suggestion to bot checks…. When I go to other sites, only on registration, they usually post a picture of something related to whatever the subject is…. So like… if it’s related to Sonic the Hedgehog, they could post a picture of him and ask, "What’s the 5 letter name of this character?" So maybe post a picture of what… Miku? She’s most popular.
Of course, don’t take any suggestions that you don’t want. I’m just a user. °д°

If you need help with anything, I’m sort of internet and web design savvy, but it’s your site and whatnot, so do whatever. It’s a nice place none the less. Wonderful tutorials and demos that do work.

Hi Everyone,
I put in my daily Vocaloid Time. Still learning new things about what kinds of midi tracks the Vocaloids will sing and how they sing them.

Have not figured out yet in other midi music software, how to split any kind of multiple notes at once, like guitar and piano chords and drum tracks into split tracks where there is only one note per part before importing into Vocaloid editors.

Much music midi software has tools like to split a guitar part into 6 chs, putting all the notes on one guitar string on a separate track. But I have not figured out how to do it, so the Vocaloid Editor does not import the entire guitar or piano part on one Vocaloid Track. Then the Vocaloid Editor strips most of the guitar or keyboard part out.

Same for importing drum tracks. Once Vocaloid Editor strips out most of the drum track, now much left.

Fingerpicking guitar tracks or Keyboard Arpeggios import well. And so do drum tracks with less notes at the same time like Latin Percussion.

Lead Guitar parts, horn lines, woodwinds, any other mostly one note at a time tracks import and convert well.

As do any kind of chord or harmony tracks, that are also split into only one note per track before importing.
