Hi All,

Just thought I’d post a quick note to introduce myself. I have just placed an order for Lola and I’m looking forward to it arriving in the next couple of days. I’m a Bass player/Guitarist from thr UK and I mostly write fairly experimental ambientish dancy sort of stuff (not sure how to categorise it)

I have to say that I’m fairly excited about the possibilities for this software. I know it’s not going to be realistic, but it [i:138scnny]has[/i:138scnny] to be an improvement on my voice (jeez, even Speak ‘n’ Spell is an improvement on me :( ).

Hi Drum and welcome to the “Grumpy Old Codgers” club. (At least going by recent threads). I’d be interested to hear what ambient experimental dance music is! I thought ambient was meant to relax you, and dance to get you up and jumping – so I’m not sure sure what I would do if I were to listen to your music. (I guess that’s why it’s experimental?) Post some Vocaloid tracks on here as soon as you have got through the pain barrier – ie. installing and activating the product, and getting that young Lola to actually sing what you want and how you want it.

Hi drum. I suggest you start with as simple a song as possible, then gradually do harder stuff. I got discouraged early on as I attempted a song that was too difficult. Had vocaloid in the recycle bin, then on an ambitious day decided to try again. Now I’m almost up to the listenable stage with vocaloid. One day I hope to get to the point that people listening to my vocalizings say EWWW with no profanitys after. Welcome to the site. Don’t post anything too hot here as I don’t think some of the members old hearts could take it!!!

Hello drum,

Welcome to the world of Vocaloid.

I hope you don’t put us old codgers too much to shame!…….

I will certainly be looking forward to hear your downloads.

:) Hi Drum! :) I’m one of the grumpy codgers that live here, too and I can prove it (aside : you call this living?). Welcome aboard this rusty old cruise ship of a forum as she makes her final voyage. Maybe some kind young steward will find you a wheelchair and you can join the rest of the crazy gang in the lounge for Bingo and the egg-sucking contest.

BTW – I put an ambient track up on another forum recently and got a comment that “I don’t like it ‘cos it doesn’t have any beats” – so just don’t piss me off now, y’hear

Don’t believe a word young Joe says (sheesh – 67 and still a virgin, no wonder he’s uptight). He’s one of the grumpiest of the lot as he makes himself crazy spending all day looking round for cheaper and cheaper website space. It’s an obsession with him. He’s going to be renting out the forum to big business soon an’ all as his pension can’t stretch to a decent site. Don’t give him any money, he’ll only drink it. He edits out all critiscisms of Zero-G too (didn’t tell you he works for them, did he?). See what I mean? He can’t touch me at the moment as I’m on a wireless network on top of the Derby and Joan Club, Cleethorpes just popping off shots from my new high powered sniper rifle. 8O Gotta go, I can hear sirens in the distance – see you in the grumpy old men’s corner no doubt. Drop in and get your varicose veins in a twist….

Vocaloid users – buy one get one free! Simply play back an ordinary vocaloid file through an empty household toilet roll tube and instantly you’ll find yourself transported back to the golden halcyon days of Cher!

Round about this time of day I like to kick back in the old rocking chair, fill my pipe and enjoy a nice hot mug of new improved “Miriamlix”, available now from the foyer for a mouth wateringly higher price than you’d expect to pay. And remember, you probably won’t be able to buy “Miriamlix” soon in any shop near you….
