V2 is a totally new range of products. A whole new synthesis engine, that isn’t backwards compatible with the old voices.

So my guess is 3 I’m afraid. Definitely not 1.

I don’t know if Zero-G and others will provide a special crossgrade price for registered users. I think it would be nice if they did

Oops

If I cannot use Miriam on Vocaloid V2, I don’t think I am interested.

I am getting used to progamming the Miriam voice and like the sound of it.

This sounds like that TV add : FOR NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY!

Any body out there with similar thoughts?

The demo of vocaloid 2 sweet ann will in no way entice me to pay even more for this ‘new’ product.
I have lola, and the word pronounciations of sweet ann don’t sound much clearer for me to justify handing over money again.
Even the demo of lola is in someways clearer in pronounciation than the demo of sweet ann.

Giuseppe (Jose)

Hi everyone;
I want to answer Alpal using this forum for it, just because he is on a very negative campaign against Vocaloid with no sense at all. (This user is just a mere listener and at the moment haven’t demonstrate he has used this product or something else)
Vocaloid can like or not, is a new and innovative tool to compose music with emulated sintetic voices. I really think that Yamaha nor Zero-G nor PowerFX nor Crypton was expecting to substitute human voices, maybe in five hundreds of years.
You can make choruses with Vocaloid or just emilate a solo singer. Is a fascinating working tool with wich even Mike Oldfield had worked in some of his compositions and must be used as a soundfont, just one more of them. If Alpal has used soundfonts somtimes he knwos what I want to mean. Now I’m doing some demoes for ZeroG and PowerFX for free, I earn no money for it All of you can hear at them here, in vocloid user page and can see the evolution of my demoes using Vocaloid.
Sweet Ann is an SPLENDID voice to do great and very good songs with.
Alpal has shown me he doesn’t know how to listen, just becasuse he hasn’t found out that " Killing me softly" is not sung by Sweet Ann but is Lola who does and using Vocaloid1. I used for this song Lola as solo voice and Lola Miriam and Leon to the choruses; you can listen at it in this web and read wich fonts were used to make it and the used voices. sweet Ann was still in her creation process, but Bill from PowerFx tought it was a good demo,
Soon I hope we can hear at some demoes made by me when Prima will be launched and have to say it is the most natural and fascinated voice I have worked with. I bet on the future of Vocaloid and encoourage all of them, Power FX, ZeroG and Crypton to keep on sampling new voices to create a whole vitual world of ‘human’ sounds.
To this point I think is not necessary to explain what is Vocaloid and who is addressed to.
Thanks everyone who have read my post.

Nice PR spin,Giuseppe (not sure why you initially chose to post in a language other than english,as it obviously means most people can’t understand what the content is of that particular post – was there also something there not included in the english translation i should have been aware of ?

Anyway – sorry to disappoint you,but I’m a realist – and most exceptionally a realist when I spend nearly $300 for some software that appears to fail to live up to it’s advertised expectations,no matter what it is.
I do not see worth in any software, especially expensive software, that requires you to sit down and spend time after time in finally getting a result that may or may not equal the software creator’s promises – that is the job of the software creator – to make those promises come true for the purchaser with the minimun ammount of effort and time.

Now as opposed to your silly point scoring suggestion,I do indeed have vocaloid software in which i have worked with – Lola, and yes, with the update.
It has obvious imperfections, even with the update – i.e. – hard to understand pronounciations,a robotic voice, lack of smooth flowing lyrics, etc.
So i check out vocaloid 2 demos, anna, compared to lola – ironically, Lola still wins in some ways !!
And as for ‘prima’ ? – she is the same software engine as anna – but,I have promised here to ‘hold back’ until I have heard her –
The bottom line is,why should anyone pay possibly hundreds of dollars more for a ‘new product’ that is not much different to the ‘old product’ ?!!

– any chance of a response in english only first ? then you can translate the same EXACT response into any language you like.

Hey guys: It is very silly to expect any software to perform or produce Art. It requires an artist to do so. Prima, or Sweet Ann in the hands of a techno freak, without ANY musical bacground, will just produce a humming mombo jumbo.
But handled by an artist like Giuseppe, incredible music and a superb singer performance, certainly comes out!
If you expect to buy Photoshop and instantly becoming Esher or Modigliany is a fantasy dream. You must learn how to draw, how to paint, you must understand color, composition, proportion, perspective, etc.
The same with musical TOOLS. What you produce will be a reflection of your artistic capacity and NOT the automated product from a super intelligent software, that DOES NOT EXIST!

Clear enough :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
