Hello, this is my first post after perusing these forums since they opened.

I’ve joined really to ask anyone who’s bought Miriam to please give their opinion on her soundfont.

I haven’t found her demos very impressive at all so am having second thoughts about buying my first Vocaloid product.

So any kind of review would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hopefully these forums are a bit empty because everyone’s making music with their Vocaloid, right?!

Hey Brat, welcome to the forum.
There will be a restricted but playable demo of Miriam available in a few weeks time. Unfortunately I dont know the exact date or specifications.

“The Playable demo is now available.”

Please read my comment/question in the other thread today – about the lack of restrictions in the licence agreement.

Going to get the real thing this weekend.

Zero-G have (as of 13 August 2004) adjusted the price of their first three Vocaloid virtual vocalist products, with Vocaloid LEON and Vocaloid LOLA each now costing only £129.95 GBP ($229.95 USD / 199 Euro), and their latest voice Vocaloid MIRIAM £149.95 GBP ($279.95 / 225 Euro).

Well! Well! Just as well I did not get Miriam Last week.

Is this really true?
Or do my eyes deceive me? <img class=” />

It doesn’t surprise me. The prices were always a bit on the high side and Miriam was far too expensive. Clearly the sales of Miriam have been disappointing – hence the free trial. My feeling is that, after the initial excitement, it’s gone off the boil a bit.
There was a real buzz on this site when the product was launched, but look at it now.
I’m going to use a real vocalist on my next project! Yamaha needs to rethink its software, and Zero-G obviously needed to rethink their prices. It’s a pity really, because it’s a great idea- just not quite ready yet.
Look out for a “relaunch” of a new improved, updated product next year some time……..
Chris
