First post on the forum so grateful for any feedback. I have been using the software for a few months and produced a few songs. These are posted on my website I am trying to use synthesised voices for all parts and am getting Prima to sound a little more expressive.
This is a classical piece The Fall which suits her more…

But I think it works OK with slower pop here dueting with Microsoft Sam!

She struggles a bit with this faster number Dejeuner ja vu

(I think you need to be using Internet Explorer to play them via the webpage direct links to the MP3s below.)
If you have a fast link there is a video track Daedalus but you may need to wait for it to stream.

Hi Everyone,
Nice job with Prima. When you do a final nix, make the music tracks software on any pieces where you want the Vocaloid words to be understood.

If you are using wordless Vocaloid Sounds, then your ears are the judge.

I am thinking of downloading a Vocaloid 2 just to have the new editor and the V2 features. The ones are sale are Prima, Tonio, and Sonkia.

I do not really like their default voices, since I do not compose Opera or Bubble Gum Pop.

Prima would be great for doing exotic stuff, like fake Yma Sumac, so far I am leaning towards Prima. My brother is a professional opera singer and teacher so I could have fun sending him Prima singing Happy Birthday.

So thanks for posting the Prima stuff. Liked all of them.

Hi Everyone,
After Prima downloaded, which took 3 hours. I installed Prima and tested Prima out with 2 Vocaloid 1 files I have been working on. Prima got all the words imported on one song, and almost none of the words imported on the other song.

I imported 2 files made with Vocaloid 2 for other V2 Singers to hear how Prima sang them compared to Big Al and Sweet Sue.

I also imported a couple of Leon and Lola and Miriam files. Sometime the lyrics imported, sometimes they did not. But always all the notes were correct.

1. Prima is quite beautiful as a wordless singer.

2. Prima default accent is a Japanese Opera Singer. That surprised me but you can hear it clearly in how some of the vowels and consonants are sung.

3. There are many changes to the stand alone V2 editor. The most useful, being able to type in lyrics one line at a time or even entire songs, if you already have the notes entered.

4. The V2 checks your PC and tells you when your PC is not fast enough to render on the fly all the tracks in your song. On a 6 track song with lots of notes, I had to pre render 2 tracks. So with V2, if your PC is faster and has more memory, V2 takes advantage of it. With a Low, Med, and Hi Quality settings. Gone is the track manager. in V2 you just select a track and turn it off or on.

5. The manual same size as the V1 manual. Same for the built in help file.

6. Have no serial number yet, so can not activate and update software.

7. The stand alone editor has sound on the piano keys and also when you click and hold on a note and also when you change the note length and move a note.

8. Lots of little tweaks to speed up editing. Like a scroll icon to turn real time scrolling during playback on or off. The control track choices now have a left side sidebar so you can quickly view or edit each control track type. No clicking on pull downs. Some new key marks you can put in the word boxes above the notes, but I do not know what they are for.

9. This tweak I have no idea what it is for. You can open just the singer screen singer editor window by itself without opening the V2 Editor. I do not know why anyone would do this. You have to way to hear any changes. And many of the singer adjustments from V1 Editor are gone. You only have 5 different ones in the V2 Singer Editor. Some of them may be combined or moved. A new choice is Open, which may combine the Resonances of the V1 Editor.

10. Prima handles on my PC a six part harmony from a bass part to the high soprano just fine. I will have to double all the tracks and see if my PC will handle a 12 track V2 File.

Summary. The lyric entering notepad box and the ability to hear notes in the stand alone V2 editor by clicking on them and while moving them, may be enough to justify picking up a V2 Vocaloid. Even if you have no interest in the VST plug in. Or real time VST.

Only read half the PDF so far, so this is just my first impression. If I can get the realtime VST to work with any software I already own, or by buying some new music software, I will be jumping for joy.

So far, I am happy with my 99 buck download of Prima.

The control tracks and what you can do with them seems to be enhanced a lot from just loading in the 2 Prima VSQ demos you get.

Hello, Everyone
Today I went to edit some new voices out of Prima. But when I opened the Singer Edit windows it said it was Read Only? And I did get my serial number and activated Prima this morning.

I had to close Vocaloid 2 and open the new stand alone singer editor app. Copy Prima a few times and then edit the new singers there.

When I opened V2 again, the new singers were there but the in program editor let me select a new singer, but it never actually loaded or redid the tracks with the new singer.

So I still had just the default Prima.
