Quality of prima in demos

I’m sorry, but I heard prima’s demos and I could only understand half the lyrics, and the other lyrics I could make out had a definate lisp to them !
Has anyone bought this product yet to prove me wrong ? – is it simply poor playback quality of prima’s demos ?
(the ‘crazy’ demo struck me as not being too much of a challenge to reproduce vocally, but it sounded just awful !)

p.s. – version 2 (prima) STILL appears to have a bit of the vocoder ‘darlek’ sound in her voice.
This is not a ‘human’ sound by any means ! <img class=” />

No demos for Prima has been posted yet. So I can only assume, as Guiseppe indicates, that the demo(s) you’ve listened to were for another product.

Btw. demos for Prima is just around the corner.

The demo I referred to was in fact ‘sweet ann’ singing the song ‘crazy’ – HOWEVER,’she’ IS of the version 2 vocaloid software,in which I would assume ‘prime’ is as well – if that is the case, than I would suggest prima will sound as bad as sweet ann will for the reasons I listed.
I’m trying to get the link for the sweet ann demo – unless they removed it out of embarrassment of the quality ?!!

Interesting – I can no longer find the demo by ‘sweet ann’ singing the song ‘crazy’.
It (was) on the press release page of prima (vocaloid 2,as is sweet ann) – It still has demos of lola, leon, miriam etc.,but there are no longer any demos of sweet ann,let alone prima.

As I said,I’m happy to be proven wrong r.e. the quality of vocaloid 2 software, but (if) the vocaloid 2 demos have been removed, for whatever reason, then it seems a bit sus to me !!

o.k. – found a ‘sweet ann’ link – now I know this is the ‘prima’ forum, but sweet ann and prima are vocaloid 2 upgrades – and folks,I’m not impressed.
Read on –

from http://www.myspace.com/vocaloidsweetann

The quality here of vocaloid 2 seems to be hardly better than version 1.1,if the demos are anything to go by.
Unless you know the songs, most of the the lyrics of these demos are unintelligable and sound like the singer has a bad lisp, especially in the ‘killing me softly’ demo song.
There is still the impresion (she) is singing through a cheap and nasty vocoder – i.e. – there is little to no pronounciation of the letters ‘t’ or ‘s’ on the beginnings of lyrics, and the overall quality resembles a bad VOIP phone line.

I really hope yamaha doesn’t charge even more for this unfortunate ‘upgrade’ – in my opinion it simply isn’t worth it.

You have reason, the quality of the demos they are very bad.
All songs that are on MySpace are of poor quality
The same thing happens with the videos in Youtube
If you looking at Youtube you hear also to Ann Sweet with poor quality
You can hear Sweet Ann in

All the opinions are respectable, With your opinion we see the mistakes of the software and we try to correct them.

You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I think you’re being a bit harsh on something you haven’t even heard yet.

As I mentioned above, demos for Prima will be out very soon, please judge Prima then.

But doesn’t sweet ann have the same new version 2 software engine as prima ?
If so, then I don’t see how it could sound any better.
r.e. quality of demos – if the demo quality is poor then I’m afraid that may put people off from purchasing these vocaloid products.
However,I do believe the poor quality of the vocals, especially the pronounciations, can’t be entirely blamed on the demos —

Yes they share the same software engine. However, for a number of reasons, voices in Vocaloid2 can still sound very different.

As I keep mentioning, Prima demos are coming soon.

So therefore we shouldn’t buy any vocaloid software unless it is prima ?
– sorry – the fact remains it IS vocaloid version 2 – according to your own PR,this is the best you can deliver – sweet anna IS vocaloid version 2 – it sounds pretty ordinary, with little apparent advancements in the pronounciation of the words compared to previous vocaoid versions.
I say again – I will not have a front singer that sounds like a vocoder or a cheap VOIP phone connection.

Please don’t toy with us with the PR ‘hype’ – it simply is not a human sounding voice – end of story.

There’s no way; I have no time to waste answering you. Learn to hear first. And you’re right: end of story.

o.k. – firstly,i apologise if i was fiesty – but you have to understand that at nearly $300 for software that sounds less than promised, and the purchaser has to work at it to get it right (in other words correct the software),they would be disappointed.

I will wait for your prima demo – please let (us) know when the demos are on line if you can.
But if it’s quality is below ‘promised’ expectations, then I will let you know – count on it.

I heard the demos for Prima from zero-g site.

[url=http://www.zero-g.co.uk/media/mp3/j/3/Vocaloid_Prima_Voi_Che_Sapete.mp3:38gtf04a]Voi Che Sapete[/url:38gtf04a]

[url:38gtf04a]http://www.zero-g.co.uk/media/mp3/i/8/Vocaloid2_Prima-Mon_Coeur_S’ouvre.mp3[/url:38gtf04a]

All these demos dont sound like english  . I am aware that Prima was designed to be a Soprano voice. Does this mean that Prima cannot be used to sing normal English lyrics?

Would love to hear some english demos :( . NEone know where?

Hi RagsInRags, check out the "General Vocaloid Discussion" section, the last few posts under "Vocaloid 2 – when?" should answer some of your questions.
I’m hoping that there will be some more demo’s soon, & more importantly that Prima will be available soon too.
