here is a little snippet of an orchestral song, featuring
only the vocals.there are a few areas that need a
little tlc,if you know how to make it better please
comment.ill keep posting progress as it happens.
this tiny part took 3-4 hours of wrangling with lola
but it was worth it,i am pleased with the results.

Damn dude. you gonna be 5 years on that song if that little snippet took hours. Does sound pretty good though. I be looking for this one as you progress.

Orion, I love the sound of Lola’s voice on this – very soft and sexy!! Well done. The slur up on that early note sounds just a little too much. Having said that, I’ve almost given up on trying to get the pitch bend to sound right. It’s very close though. If the song is going to be in a “classical” style, I think the vibrato is a little too heavy on some of the notes. I used the “subtle” vibrato on Nebula and it seemed about right. For a more pop orientated song, though, the vibrato is perfect. She is, after all, a soul singer. I look forward to hearing the rest of this and, of course, the accompaniment. Good luck with Lola’s Journey.

Orion, I reckon a few well-placed breaths would nail it down for Lola on this one. You could record those yourself.

thanks guys, well i said in another post somewhere
that ill be using what we have,a classical upgrade
pack would be nice, but i kinda got used to lola singing
this now.the music is done so a few more sessions
and the voice should be there.
tell you what though, that cantor video served as an
exellent lola tut on parameters etc.cause its all there
in vocaliod, need to work a bit on phenomic editing.

see what i meant about “hayding” as opposed to
“hiding” and that is not a pitch pitch bend
its written like that,im looking into maybe changing it.
and the “ssss” in “silence” im not happy about.

hoping for an update soon, ill upload the MID and MP3
so’s you all can take a look at the settings.

well i think a quick sprint round the block should suffice

excellent idea, all the more for “realism” and audible trickery.
muhahahahaha

Maybe the pronunciation is a US vs British thing. It sounds fine to me 8)
The pith bend then must be because you are using one of the accents that scoops/bends up to the note. Get rid of it and replace it with the one called tenuto, or better still, put no accent on the note at all and do your own pitch bent using the controller track.
Cheers

ok here is an update.
i have a small piece of vocals
to put in,which i’ll have to do myself
(vocally that is) and theres a whole
load of compression needed.

she sounds like she’s got a lisp in places
but i’m very pleased with the progress
of this song.actually shes a cross
between Dido and Sade,and reminds
me of a newspaper seller i know

[url:2fd34vn3]http://www.jojimbo.com/dam/music/Prinsengracht-263.wma[/url:2fd34vn3]

lyrical content in case you need it

Hiding forever
moving in silence
looking down on the world

the shimmering waters
boats and canals
chimes on the hour
the warmth of the sun outside

the songs of the birds
so free and so fearless
rising over the sound
of the trams and trains in the distance

below the little people go
about their daily business
and the war goes on
forever

i will be uploading the mp3 and mid when done.
next ill be doing some groove stuff.
