Cannot detect the device used for VOCALOID activation

I seem to be having a problem with my Vocaloid.

I have just upgraded my AMD 2.2 GHz CPU with a AMD dual core 2×2.2GHz CPU. Now, I know this sounds daft, but the day before the change-over the Vocaloid worked ok, and IMMEDIATELY after installation of the new CPU I receive the following message in a WARNING windows box:

Cannot detect the device used for VOCALOID activation.
Check whether the device is properly connected.

What is it trying to tell me???

After first startup, windows installed new CPU drivers and told me to reboot and that is the only software related event between old and new CPU.

Can you please help?

Kind regards,
Roelof.

Forgot something, I also had to replace a broken wireless internet PCI card, but I don’t think any new drivers were installed for this new card.

Fixed it myself.

Disappointing that I did not get a reply.

Ehhh… who is supposed to be the administrator here?

It appears that Vocaloid attaches itself to the network card MAC address.
Hence if you replace the network card you have to re-install vocaloid.
Clever but annoying; this trick will prevent people making illegal copies of vocaloid but it is irritating as I had to reprogram all the singer variations from memory.

I believe you can choose to have it attach to the network card or something else, but I cannot remember what the ‘something else’ was.

Roel.

Thanks for solving this. I had no idea what the problem was. Now if I can just find the installation disc . . .
