I exported some files from Vocaloid2 as both .wav and .mid, but they won’t play on SONAR 6 (Producer Edition). Sometimes the meter will move, and sometimes it won’t. There’s absolutely no sound coming out. Please help? :< I really want this to work, since I’m almost done making a song on the Vocaloid2 Editor and need SONAR to work with Vocaloid2 (or vice-versa) to synthesize, fix, and etc.

Here are some information that might help:

The file is exported as:
Sampling rate: 44100 Hz
Resolution: 16 bit

Controller information:
High Definition Audio Device

Windows Audio:
midi in – DirectiXer Loopback
midi out – Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth
mixer – Speakers (high definition audio)
wave out – Speakers (high definition audio)

Key Specs:
Processor: 2GHz Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Memory: 1GB DDR2
Storage: 200GB hard drive
Optical Drives: Double-layer DVD±RW with LightScribe
Monitor: None
Graphics: Integrated nVidia GeForce 6150 SE (128MB)
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium

Audio drive:
Realtek High Definition Version 6.0.1.5473

I use Sonar 6 with Vocaloid 2, and it works, so your problem is not an imcompatibility with Sonar.

Have you tried importing another wav file to make sure the sound works?

I have Realtek High Definition Audio on another computer (laptop), and I find that the Realtek driver gets messed up very often and I have to uninstall and reinstall it.

In Sonar try OPTIONS-AUDIO-GENERAL and look for the "wave profiler" button. Click the button and it will confirm your audio driver status.

Hope this helps
Carl

Ah, other .wav files don’t play on my Sonar as well. The meter doesn’t move at all. I tried the Wave Profiler several times, and the menu continues to look like this: http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff11 … tled-4.jpg
Are they the right settings?

I don’t think any settings would keep a wav file from playing.

Apparently the Vocaloid2 isn’t the issue.

Do you get sound when you play a wav file (or mp3, or whatever) in Windows Media player? If you do, you might want to reinstall Sonar.

If not,if it were me I would be uninstalling the Realtek driver and re-installing it.

Every computer may be a little different- for me its a matter of minutes.
I do a START (or the windows symbol in visa)-CONTROL PANEL-SYSTEM-SOUND AND VIDEO-REALTEK-PROPERTIES and choose uninstall and click.
Then, on my visa laptop, I have a choice "update driver" and the computer goes to the internet and finds the current available driver from Realtek. Sometimes I don’t even do that after uninstalling, just close the lid (or shutdown your desktop) and the driver (which has remained in a file on your computer) is reinstalled when you start up again. That alone sometimes works for me when Realtek is messed up.

Hope you can get it going again
good luck
Carl

Since the .wav files work on Windows, I guess I’ll reinstall Sonar. Thanks so much for your help! :D

What is the best kind of processer for a laptop computer? Also what is the best brand of laptop? I am buying a laptop very soon and I need to know what is the best kind of processor. Both of my desktops are pentium, but I hear that those are not always the best kind to use. I will be using my laptop instead of my desktop. I primarily use my computer to game. I am trying to look for the best laptop for me. And I know that how you use it makes a difference.
