[b:44e4lrhi]Copy paste of dynamic events???[/b:44e4lrhi]

Hi

I have changed the content of this topic a bit since it was originally posted. ;)

Working with Vocaloid is a very slow process, adding individual vibrato’s
copying pitch bends etc etc. Especially when importing a melodi from a midi file. I definitly missing some kind of automatic function that would do the rough job. Like eg add vibrato to all notes longer than XX or make all notes selected stretch to next note start. Must be a loth of handy function that could help!?

Anybody else that feel this frustration??

I agree that there must be some pretty useful ‘rough’ processing that could be applied such as the ones you suggest.

I am also beginning to find that to get clearer definition of words, it is quite often necessary to increase the ‘noise’ applied to constonants at the beginning and end of words. It makes me wonder whether, again, it might be possible to have this automated somehow?

Another thing I find is that if I change the overall characteristics of the ‘singer’, such as increasing clarity or brightness etc, when you start making other changes in the control track, it over-rides everything else. Surely it would be useful for the control track to revert to the singer presets everywhere except where the user makes a specific change. Just a thought!

Hi Yorkie

Seems like great ideas you suggested. :)

——————————

Just thought of some more feature. Some kind of fundamental dynamic profile setup memory bank, that can be created for singers. That then can be applied for a whole song/phrase etc. Including dynamics, vibrato or anything that can be applied from the palette. Then you can create presets like eg Lola-Jazz, Lola-Soul, Lola-Country etc with matching characteristics.

I guess Yamaha or Zero-G could supply the templates? ;)

I also have Melodyne, that has a some what related editing function. A very useful feature in that program is a “binding notes together”. That gives the edited material a smother transition betwen notes. Notes glides
(glisando) from one to another. This can probably be achieved in the vocaloid also. An automatic feature that provide this could be useful eg seleted notes should glide 30% in transition etc. Then vocaloid adds applies some kind of combination of pitch bend & eg legato or whatever to each selected note. :)

If you make a custom voice using the voice parameters in the vocaloid singer editor (“settings” – “singer list”), your data in to control tracks do not over-ride these settings, it is super-imposed over the top. The idea is that you can make your own custom singers or modify your current singer and still retain all the expression data that is in your song.
