Hy, I’m rather new to the vocaloid-techology and espacially with rewire.
I started cubase, i started the vocaloid2-editor (prima) did the rewire-connection in both of them, entered notes an words in the vocaloid-editor.
By playing back I got crackling output of prima and a stuttering timeline in the pianoroll of the editor.
I’m working with a laptop intel core 2 duo 2x 2,4Ghz, 3GB RAM.

Is there anyone outside who can give some advices in solving this problem?

Greetings from Vienna, the city of music

No, I’m not.
I tried different things, encreasing / decreasing latency etc. nothing that solves my problem. switching off rewire the sound out of my audiointerface is perfect. rewire on plus vocaloid prima, terrible sound.

Seems I’m the only fool having problems with rewire, everyone else has no problems at all.
Lööks like having wasted my money.

I suggest you contact Zero-G Vocaloid support. It’s what they are there for…

If they help you fix the problem, please post your solution here :)

Good luck

(Anders might be able to help also)

I wish I could even get it to connect to cubase in rewire. I start cubase and check the devises menu…no rewire devices listed, I start vocaloid and set for rewire, check cubase still no rewire devices mentioned…nothing at all…is there something I am missing

I had the same problem with vocaloid not showing in Cubase 5.1.1 essential, I downloaded reaper to see if it would find vocaloid. Since then Cubase has found both!

Worth a try.

I also have an issue with vocaloid 1 cracking, but only with 1 file.

I changed the pronunciation for a word, and didn’t want to go through the other 100 instances and amend them so I imported the midi file. It worked fine in the Vocaloid editor, but when I rewire it into Cubase I get the crackles.

As I say it’s only on that file. It’s not much larger than the original, I though it may have introduced more midi messages, but it doesn’t appear to be that. I did some more editing afterwards which would probably account for the size increase.

I’ve tried play after synthesis on all tracks and the latency, but can’t get rid of it either.

I may have to go back to the original file.

I had a similar problem with vocaloid 1.1.1.0.
At first vocaloid did not appear in the cubase device menu.

Following a suggestion I found on this forum I tried the following which worked. I downloaded another sequencer called Reaper and installed it and started briefly. I then closed Reaper and started cubase. Now both Reaper and vocaloid appear in the cubase device menu.

I have the same problem.
Solution is increasing of the buffer size up to 1024 or 2048 samples.
Check these settings in your soundcard control panel.

Hi Everyone,
Which Cubase versions are you using with Vocaloid?
Do not forget to try simply lowering the playback volume or recording volume.
One can always use a boost plug in while mixing to get your music louder.
