Newbie at this board… newbie to this great program… and already some ideas for improvement. Heres my Dirty Dozen:

1: I assume that Vocaloid totally re-renders for every change. Re-render only the change. And/or give the choice to render only a region. If I change just one – say pitch event why not only re-render the period in time where the event has occurred (and any consequent changes adjacent to it). The rest remains the same.

2: Provide an option for editing while continuing to play the last rendered version. So if I listen back I can change a number of obvious mistakes without having to wait for rendering to be completed. Otherwise I have to listen and remember every mistake! In other words update only when told to do so – otherwise continue to play back previously rendered version.

3: Importable/mergeable pronunciation libraries. 3rd party libraries would allow the creation of a universally available knowledge base.

4: Importable/mergeable icon palette items. I could use 3rd party creations and perhaps even contribute.

5: Different colors available for user icon palette items.

6: Allow the conversion of a series of gestures applied to a particular note ([custom] crescendos, [custom] pitchbends, in fact all parameters – fixed or variable in time) to be able to be converted to a single user palette item.

7: Specify where, along the time line, the location, occurrance and emphasis of phonetic elements of a word or syllable comes – the volume and/or duration of aspirants, for instance.

8: Breathing sounds.

8.5 Unlmited (or user defineable) undos.

9: More customisable options on skins. The color of notes, lyrics and phonetics for instance. Be able to save and load custom skins.

10: Import of wav file – so I can play the backing track in the standalone application & add the vocalz.

11: “At source” dynamics – compression, limiting etc. applied pre-rendering.

12: Midi clock, MTC, defineable controllers and/or NRPN’s for everything; reWire support.

(13: A realism option where Lola randomly forgets words, comes in a beat/bar early/late, in the wrong key, gets pregnant again and causes a row between the drummer and bass player – who’ve both slept with her, has a sore throat and can only sing three notes, or doesn’t show up at all and leaves a garbled message on your home phone number when she knows you’re in Tierra del Fuego. New performer timwill is needed. Great pronunciation, great sense of pitch, but still a crap vocalist. He’s gonna have to do the virtual gig [again]!!!LOL)

Well yes – I’m a smartass and haven’t got the talent to recycle the toilet paper of the geniuses that put this program together. And I’ll probably find out most of what I’ve said is already available in the prg! Just my lead shilling’s worth…[/b:7uumamy5]

What do I see using Vocaloid 4? Well 4 a start as s a songwriter I can show dimbo singers what the melody line is. With my current knowledge of Vocaloid they will be able to say: “I can sing that better.” Things may well change! As the prg develops i am sure the sky will be the limit!

Big up & [b:7uumamy5][color=red:7uumamy5]max respekt [/color:7uumamy5][/b:7uumamy5]to the Vocaloid ‘grammerz, Yamaha, & zer0-G.

LOL Tim. Lemme add to your list. Make that damn piano at the left of the program work. Its nice to hear a note when your inserting it or at least have a piano handy to hear the note with.
