Hi Everyone
I just ordered Fl Studio Fruity Loops Ver 9. Thats the baby version of Fl Studio that does audio and midi recording. I do not know if it can record both midi and audio at the same time, but assuming I like Fl Studio, I can always upgrade FL later.

I will have it in about 10 days, since it was out of stock. I got Fl Studio to use as a Vocaloid 2 Real Time VST host.

No one ever got back to me about what software can act as a VST Host for Vocaloid 1 and Vocaloid 2.

THe only Video demo I could find showing how the Vocaloid 2, and the Real Time VST works was using Fl Studio. I do not know what version of Fl Studio was in the demo video. I have not used Fl Studio, so could not tell from the video.

But I want the ability to loop a Vocaloid 2 track, or part of a track, and then use the VST Real Time editor to edit the Vocaloid while it is playing.

That is really what the stand alone version of Vocaloid needs. The ability to do Vocaloid edits in real time, if not while playing a track or part of a track, at least one word and one long note.

Having to edit, then wait for the software to render the track, to see if you like the edits is like being in The Dark Ages.

I know there are some Vocaloid 1 and 2 users in the Fl Studio Forums, so I joined their forums and will post there in a few hours, about V2 and Fl Studio.

Hi
Looking forward to learning Fl Studio. I have never used Rewire. Rewire can connect any 2 pieces of software that both support Rewire?

I went and downloaded the newest version of Rewire.

I will try Rewire and Vocaloid 2 with some of my music software.

Hi All,
I went to confirm my backorder of Fl Fruity Loops and the seller had 1 copy of Fl Producer Edition in stock. So I cancelled my BO Fruity Loops and ordered the in stock Fl Producer Edition.

So no waiting an extra week for a backorder.

The Fl Fruity Loops is very powerful in what it can do, I have heard. The main difference in the Fl Producer Edition from the feature list. The one feature that stood out for me is a Synth Creator.

You pick the type of synthesis plus, minus, etc and create your own synth. And I think you get a few more editing tools and plug ins.

And you get free upgrades for life and can install Florida on all your PCs, which for me is 2, my desktop and my laptop.

And since I have been using PC Cakewalk for over 20 years, Florida Studio can run as a plug in from within Sonar.

The baby Florida Studio Fruity Loops sure has added lots of features the last couple of versions.

Meanwhile, I am learning the latest versions of Band In The Box with Real Band. Cakewalk X1, and all the new software synths I picked up since Halloween.

For me this fall and winter was time to upgrade all my favorite PC music and audio software to the newest versions. I usually upgrade every 3 years, so a lot of new features.

Happy Vocaloid Valentines Day

according to some unnamed friends vocaloid 2 will work in either host or slave mode with fl studio and fl studio producer edition. back to the subject of stand alone with real time editing however none of the current vocaloid products allow real time playback editing at this time that is one of the issues our work is addressing and our testing has produced promising results so far only Verona is capable of real time editing.

Hi Everyone, IMOS
I did hear back from Zero G Tech Support but nothing in the reply indicated that a live person had even read or answered my V2 questions.,

All they did was send me an auto reply of the same years old Vocaloid FAQ. Same when I asked a Vocaloid 1 question a couple of weeks ago.

When you FAQ only lists V2 plug in hosts software that has not been made or sold in years. No one at Zero G is even testing Vocaloid with PC host software as it comes out.,

Plus if they simply sent Cakewalk, Cubase, etc a copy of a Vocaloid 1 and a Vocaloid 2, the software companies would do the Vocaloid Testing for them.

And obviously that is why there has never been a demo version of Vocaloid 2 and why the Vocaloid 1 demo after all these years only works with 4 specific words.

Zero G still advertises that the Vocaloid 1 and Vocaloid 2 plug ins will work with any PC host software. They state it on their website and also on the product boxes,

Ok, maybe most Vocaloid Users do not own any other PC music software and have no interest in using the Vocaloids as a plug in.

But they could at least update the FAQ every 6 months.

And after years of putting out Vocaloids. Zero G does not even have a Zero G Vocaloid Forum area in their software forum. I started a Vocaloid thread, but was told to get lost and post over here.

Zero G wants to sell the software but not support any tech support or help with it.

I do not own any non Zero G Vocaloids so can not comment on if they do the same thing. Take your money and run.

I am pleased to report that Florida Studio Techs am happy to help anyone get Vocaloid 1 and Vocaloid 2 working with their software. Same with the other Florida Studio users who have Vocaloids.

They do not have any Vocaloid forum or forum area on non Florida Studio plug ins, but people with Vocaloid with Florida Studio questions can post in the Fl Studio General Forum.

They even had one Vocaloid Real Time VST with Florida Studio demo Video up.

Happy Valentines Day Vocaloids

that is the usual shit pile they send everyone its just how they see it they don’t find it worth their time to actually listen to the end user of their software that is why as a whole vocaloid has not evolved nearly as well as utau or fl studio. this needs to change and that is why even though we are numbering only 27 strong at this time in history we are about to try and usurp the industry norms and challenge the big boys in a war of the court and of the boardroom C-Media will most likely not survive the court battle that we are sure to get into but we will go into history as the few bold persons who fought for a cause they believed in and fought for to the end

we are fighting for a cause a cause that every user of vocaloid should stand up for if they wish to see the vocaloid market ever become a true art form capable of allowing those who use it to truly express themselves in music

Hello Everyone, Admin
I did hear from Zero G and this time a Live Person. They informed me that they forward any questions they can not answer to Yamaha, which handles the questions, setup, and testing on which software hosts the Vocaloid VSTs and Rewire will work with.

I asked if they could please test Vocaloid Rewire and VST with current and more recent versions of music software than the hosts they tested years ago.

And if you did not get the Zero G Email, all download Zero G Vocaloids are on sale till the end of the month. With the purchase of the first download Vocaloid you will get a coupon good for 25 bucks off your next purchase in the Zero G Download Shop.

So in my case I could pick up Leon and Tonio downloads at a big discount.
Leon for 68 bucks , then when I get the 25 buck coupon, Use it to order Tonio for 64 bucks. Or I could get Sonkia instead of Tonio.
Grand Total for 2 more Vocaloids via download 132 bucks.

So I am a happy singer hearing back from Zero G Tech Support.

Hi All.
Following Guisppes Florida Studio V2 Setup Video, I almost have V2 working as a VST Plug In in my brand new Florida Studio Producer 9.
The real time V2 sliders pop up and then I can select the Lyric Window and I can type in a lyric line. His the transform button and you can see how V2 splits your lyric line into syllables. Really slick.

The I can get the Lyric line to play in a loop or non loop. But no audio.
So I saved everything there.
Being totally knew to Florida Studio I do not know if I have to set the outputs on each new project yet.

I also almost have the real time VST and also the Real Time Rewire working in my two versions of Cakewalk Home Studio. Versions 6 and 7XL.

I can get the real time Vocaloid interface to load in Cakewalk, but then when I import a midi file. It keeps jumping to a new track and not the selected Vocaloid 2 Track.

I saved it there.

No errors messages when using the Vocaloid 1 and Vocaloid 2 VSTs. So just a matter of figuring out what settings your host has to have.

Rewire a little trickier. Since you have 2 programs to link and sync. Your host and your Vocaloid. With both Cakewalk and Fl Studio, V2 gives me an error message, can not open Rewire. Even when I can see Rewire is open in the host program.

Hi Timothy…

Vocaloid 2 work well in Fl but this have some problem…

You don’t have to configure anything special in FL, midi ports, output/input.

As you see in my video: http://giuseppevocaloid.blogspot.com/20 … chive.html

you have to click on aA button to synthesize the lyric, after, play the music and after click again in aA with music running.

If you do not follow these steps do not listen the voice.

Sorry, I don’t work with rewire and I can not help with this…

Thanks

Hi All,
Now that I got both my Cakewalk Sonar Home Studios 6 and 7XL working fully with Vocaloid 2 Real Time VST I am able to get my new Fl Studio Producer 9 working fully.
Now I can watch the rest of Giusppe’s Fl Studio V2 Realtime VST video.

Here is the steps to get Fl Studio up to version 9 working with Vocaloid 2 Real Time VST.

1. Open a blank Fl Studio Template.
2. Select the first channel or add a channel.
3 Add or Insert Vocaloid 2 Real Time VST in your selected channel.
4. It will load, your channel name with change to Vocaloid.
5. If it worked, your Vocaloid 2 Real Time Control Panel will pop up and maybe also a small Fl Studio Plug In Options box.

6. Select Settings in the V2 Real Time Control Panel.
7. Set Quality to Low for Fast Rendering. After you have everything working and you have a fast PC you can try normal for normal rendering and High Quality for very slow rendering.

8. If you like your singer to bend notes a lot for rock and blues. Set the Vocaloid Pitch Bend to 12.

9. Go to the select singer screen and select your singer.

10. Open up the Lyric Entry Window. Type in La as your test vocal sound.
11. Hit the transform button the Aa one in the bottom corner of the lyric box. Hit the Lyric box play button. The La will turn white if it is ready to play.
12. Hit the Fl Studio play button. Then hit the Lyric window play button.
13 If you do not hear anything go over to the Fl Studio Vocaloid Channel Beats and click on beats or bars 1, 5, 9. and 12.
14. If your Vocaloid Sings La great.
15. If not hit the Lyric Box Aa button again, then the Lyric box Play again.

16. Open up the Fl Studio Piano Roll and input or draw some long notes.
17. Go back to the V2 Lyric entry box. Type in some words, and transform them. Then play them.

18. Save your Fl Studio file. Also your Vocaloid Lyrics.

Hi All,
Last night I had fun putting Prima in Poly Mode and making a bunch of singing examples of Prima singing harmony on 4 note chords.

I stair stepped them so as the bass note ended, the top of the chord stack would add another note.

I simply drew in a bunch of notes with the Fl Studio pencil or draw tool, in the excellent Florida Studio piano roll.

If only the stand alone piano roll had so many features.

Tonight I am going to try the Florida Chord Tool. You pop up a long list of chords , select a chord name and click in the piano roll where you want the chord to appear. Instant 4 note chord stack.

If you do any vocal quartets or 4 voices backing tracks. This will save you a lot of time being able to do 4 Vocaloid parts on one track.

And the V2 Vocaloids sound beautiful in the close harmonies formed by just one singer singing all 4 parts.
