I imported .mid from Sibelius 3. Set up Lola and Leon voices and played “aah” without problems. Then I added “O bone Jesu miserere nobis” words to a defined “Latin” Dictionary with Latin phonemes. Added these lyrics to the Soprano track .mid notes complete with hyphens between syllables, performed the Phoneme Transformation for the S track and left the ATB tracks with the default “@” phoneme and played again. This play-through resulted in audio clicks and pops, especially at the beginning and half of the sylables were silent, randomly distributed in the Soprano, S, Track. The ATB tracks with “@” played okay. I readjusted the auido settings, buffers, sampling rate, etc. and still the same very bad performance. I heard this once before, after which I reinstalled the software, etc. including the latest editor update and the problem persists. I have satisfied all of the troubleshooting pointers in the manuals including turning “play with synthesis” ON and OFF. What do I do next? (Hardware: XP OX, Dell Precision 360, 3.2GHz, 2GB RAM, 160 HD, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Sound Card, latest drivers everything, latest BIOS, no other software problems)

Dom at zero-g support showed me where I had entered wrong phonemes, which explains the silent syllables during playback. I figured out that the “clicks and pops” were because I had the MIDI sound playback on my sound card too high so the card amp was “clipping.” I turned the sound down on the card and also dialed down the mixer Master, which eliminated the “clicks and pops.” I now run with “play with synthesis” ON and all of the other timing, buffer features at their lowest settings and 1 pre-bar, music sequence at 1 on a 3.2GHz machine. The playback is FAST and flawless.
