The syllable "too"

I have had problems getting that syllable to sound decent. In English, it could be the words too, two, or to, or parts of various words. In Spanish it would be spelled tu.

Vocaloid translates it to th u:

Theoretically that should be correct, the correct consonant and vowel sounds. And similar syllables, starting with a different consonant, for example “soo” or “su” (translated by Vocaloid to s u:) sound correct.

But with the spelling th u: the vowel sounds incorrect and strange. Somehow starting the syllable with th modifies the vowel sound, and it doesn’t sound good. (It is definitely not the same u: that one hears after s or other consonants.)

I should mention perhaps that the voice is Miriam, set to the normal preset.

Does anyone have a fix for this? How can I make the simple syllable “too” or “tu” sound correct?

th usually occurs and the start of a word and t at the end… but it might still work…
