Hello again,

Installed Vocaloid2 Sound Library and Expression Data Base on my FDrive and the Plugin/Program on my CDrive( the plugin went in to Steinberg VST Plugins)

The authorization went OK.

Vocaloid appears as a rewire plugin in my Cubase4 Project Page but does not appear in the instrument panel list.

Anyone any ideas how to rectify??

best

Bob

Hi again Bob,
Sorry to hear you are having problems. Doncha just hate it when you’ve got a new program & you just can’t get it to work!
Your problem prompted me to check the locations of my sound & expression files, & to my suprise I found that they were installed in the location I chose AND the default location. I can only think that this happened when I was having instalation problems (which turned out to be due to Vista) & I had to uninstall & reinstall a couple of times, I may have tried using the default location at one point. The strange thing is that if I now rename either set of files, the program won’t work & I get a message that says "Can’t find database – program will close". Thing is, if you aren’t supposed to change the location of the sound & expression files… why do they give you the option?
I’m not sure why your Vocaloid 2 doesn’t show up in the instrument panel list, it is a new feature of version 2, to be able to type in your lyrics within Cubase. In version 1 you didn’t have the ability to use it as a VST instrument in this way & I used to use it as a seperate program & then export audio files & then import them into Cubase.
I am still not finding much time to use Vocaloid 2 at the moment but as soon as I do I’ll let you know if I come up with any suggestions.
In the meantime you could try Dom Keeffe on the support e-mail I put in my last post.
Again… good luck.

Thanks again for the reply Coolsite,

YEah I hate that too!!

Just installed East West Voices of Passion and Ministry of Rock…….had a minor problem…..so i picked up the phone…yes the phone… and talked to a PERSON and got it sorted!!
It’s like that ‘Keep Music Live’ should also be ‘Keep Teck Suppoert Live’!!

Anyway that’s enough griping!! I’m sure your right. that’s it’s got something to do with moving the folders. I’ll try what you suggested and also see if I can get any help from Stienberg….after all it is a Yamaha product.
Sometimes it can have something to do with where the .dll file is. I seem to remember I had a problem like this before and I did something in VST Connections.
No word from support at Zero-G yet.

I’ll keep you posted.

Best

Bob

I had the same problem.

Dom suggested some yamaha advice that was to put the oath of the plu-in in the devices>plug-in>vst2plug-in path.

Well, I had already done this so I tried it again but this time I did not have a project loaded.

Now it appears in the plug-in list! Not tried it out yet, no doubt I’ll be back in a short while to let you know if it is working <img class=” />
